BetterCare Support

Animation-led platform supporting people through care and support assessments.

Benefits of using BetterCare Support

Digital-first

BetterCare Support was co-designed by six councils and addresses the need for a digital approach to Care and Support within Adult Social Care to provide efficiencies to both the customers and the council alongside significant financial savings.

Guided self-assessment

The series of engaging animations guides users through the 10 areas of the Care Act and coaxes best quality responses. Individuals are pointed to relevant local and national information, advice and guidance services, even if they’re not eligible for social care and support.

Cost saving efficiencies

The platform reduces the number of home visits required and unnecessary contact from individuals who don’t meet the eligibility criteria, whilst also giving a more informed view of the individuals needs prior to any further contact – creating compelling efficiency savings.

Faster service delivery

In addition to reducing the number of home visits, BetterCare Support results in shorter visits for those still required to ensure the package of care is exactly right – delivered much faster than would have previously been possible.

Resource reallocation

A reduction in backlog, travel and assessment processing times mean that you can allocate resource to the most vulnerable and complicated cases whilst still retaining high levels of service and quality.

Co-designed with local authorities

BetterCare Support was co-designed with Oxfordshire, Solihull, Medway, Coventry, Dorset and Lincolnshire councils.

Digital front door

Personalised citizen support

This tool triages citizens at the adult social care front door with engaging animations that guide users through the 10 areas of the Care Act and encourage best quality responses. Individuals are pointed to personalised local and national information, advice and guidance services, even if they’re not eligible for social care and support.

Refocus staff expertise

Prioritise vulnerable and complex cases

The platform reduces the number of home visits required and connects people with the support they need without having to wait to be directed by adult social care teams. Staff can then prioritise their time on vulnerable and complex cases, ensuring everyone is receiving a timely and appropriate level of support.
